With a whole decade under her belt, few know the inner workings of Go-To like Kerry, our Group Product Manager. A master of all things product (and a staunch Capricorn), Kerry can often be found chasing deadlines and liaising with suppliers. She also has some pretty amazing skin. So we decided to ask how she does it.
Your Routine In A Few Words: 1, 2 and done (but also sometimes 1, 2, 3, and 4 then done).
Skin Concerns: The usual mature lady concerns: Fine lines around eyes and lips, sagging jowls. Generally, I'm very happy with my skin.
Skin Type: Normal but mature...so a bit on the drier side but not too bad for an old chook.
Skin Sign: Swan
AM Routine:
-
Cleanse (sometimes with just water, but mainly with Properly Clean as I normally take my makeup off at night so no need for anything heavy duty.
-
Always Much Brighter Skin.
-
Then Nifty Fifty OG during summer and Nifty Fifty Fluid during winter months (more lightweight) or if I'm not going out during the day (say a rainy miserable, slobby day), I'll use Very Useful Face Cream.
PM Routine:
-
I tend to go straight up to my bedroom and get changed as soon as I come home from work. I find it helps me decompress from the day.
-
Cleanse with Fancy Face if I have been wearing makeup (especially heavy mascara) or Juicy Gel if I'm in the shower with no makeup.
-
Then, Very Amazing Retinal.
-
Followed by Very Luxe Face Cream or Very Useful Face Cream. Depending on what my skin needs.
But if I'm going out in the evening I always do a Transformazing mask while I use a hair mask (I always have to use a hair mask these days as my hair is so dry). Then I add: Much Plumper Skin, Very Useful Face Cream, and makeup. Very excited to add [redacted] to my repertoire.
I always try to remember to use The Removalist or The Repair Shop whilst I take a bath (preferably whilst watching @trinnywoodall do a Zara shop). Multitasking at its best.
Any Skincare Advice: Be consistent. Also, sounds wanky but I really do notice a difference in my skin when I have a two week period of not drinking alcohol or have a very low sugar in-take.
Favourite Skincare Ingredient: Vitamin C and retinal.
Skincare Sin: I love squeezing blackheads....unfortunately (or fortunately) I don't have them nowadays but my teenage son does—although he won't let me near his face!
How Your Relationship With Skincare Has Changed: I've always cleansed and moisturised—I remember being about 15 and suddenly realising that using soap was really drying my face out and begging my mum to buy me some fancy cleanser (I think it was Clarins one) then I quickly discovered using moisturiser was very important.
I haven't used anything but Go-To since 2015 and I think it definitely works because I do tend to get a lot of compliments about my skin.
Where Do Your Skincare: Cleanse in the shower at night but mostly in the bathroom over the sink.
Why Do You Skincare: I see skincare as an act of self-love that reflects my attitude to my body in general. I use good quality skincare products because I want my face to reflect how I feel on the inside and the skin on your face reflects all of that, in my humble opinion.
