The Easiest Day Trips From Sydney

The Easiest Day Trips From Sydney
Go-To HQ is craving a really relaxed and indulgent summer break. So we’re just gonna assume you are too. And once you close the laptop you might need some inspo on where to go and what to do. Consider this your guide to having a crackin’ time on home turf, specifically Sydney (the city we know best). Because not everyone is drinking hot cocoa by the fire in Banff.

Sometimes a change of scenery (for a day, or weekend) is enough of a mental and physical reboot to leave you feeling motivated and ready for work again…For anyone wanting to get out of Sydney (step away from the family drama), here’s where you might find some of our team.

I love packing a picnic and driving North to Ku-ring-gai Chase. There's so many walks to choose from and the beaches are beautiful and pretty quiet most of the time (most of them are accessible on foot only, so not a Cool Cabana in sight!). One of my favourites is Resolute Beach, it's a bit of a trek to get there, but well worth the walk. Park near the West Head Lookout and take the Resolute Track which after a few (a lot of!) steps, will take you to a stunning secluded beach with views of Palm Beach.” Andrea, Digital And Ecommerce Manager

“After spending 2022 doing a lap of Australia with my partner, I have a fairly extreme obsession with crocs. So a day trip on my list this summer is the Australian Reptile Park in Somersby - less than an hour north of Sydney. Elvis, their resident salty, (who's an enormous 5 metres long!) was relocated to the park after being a little bit naughty in his hometown, the NT.” Bella, Digital Content Manager

“About an hour South of Sydney, a National Park called Killalea State Park (or The Farm as it's known by locals) is the most serene hidden gem of the South Coast. A known favourite for surfers, and even on the hottest days it's never crowded. A great Sydney escape!” Gee, Ecommerce Specialist

“Pop down to Berry! It's about a 2 hour (ish) drive from Sydney CBD and a quick road trip that doesn't feel like a road trip - you know? It's incredibly quaint. Has a bucket load of cute stores and home interior boutiques, and a bakery that will feed you well. There's also an iconic donut van that is a non-negotiable visit. Try and not say "cows!" on the drive down. I dare you.” Georgia, Junior Brand Manager

“I love a Sydney Ferry so basically anywhere that the ferry will take you. Jump on the ferry to Cockatoo Island, or Watson Bay and grab some fish and chips or slide onto the rivercat down Parramatta river and stop off at Olympic park for a walk before jumping back on to do the same at the final destination.” Jacky, Head Of Finance

“Bit of a cop out from me, seeing as it is technically home! But a trip to the Central Coast (hour and a half north of Sydney) is super easy. Car, train, ferry from Palm Beach, whatever your mode of transport, expect uncrowded beaches (like Maitland Bay), cute coffee shops (try Boy & The Rose), local boutiques (visit La Boheme), and an overall vibe that is so laid back you'll leave feeling equal parts sleepy and restored.” Maddie, Brand Content Executive

“Wattamolla Beach is a cove, lagoon, and beach all in one. Jump in your car and head to the Royal National Park to find this hidden gem. Make sure to pack plenty of snacks, water and sunscreen because there is nothing close by for midday refreshments.” Nicole, PR And Partnerships Manager
